Jupiter Asset Management (Jupiter) announces that it has hired Niall Gallagher, Chris Sellers and Chris Legg (together the “European Equity Team”) who will be joining from GAM Investments (“GAM”), as it repositions its investment expertise in this core area for the firm. The European Equity Team have all worked together for a number of years, leading and managing GAM’s highly successful and experienced European equities franchise. We expect the European Equity Team to join Jupiter by the summer of 2025.

Today, the European Equity Team manage around £1.4bn¹ of European equity strategies on behalf of both institutional and retail clients. As one of the leading European equity teams in the industry, they have a strong investment track record, delivering top quartile performance over almost all time periods¹. Notably, they have also been successful in gathering assets, securing net positive inflows into their strategies over the last five years at a time when European equities has seen over £100bn of cumulative net outflows across the industry².

Today’s announcement is consistent with Jupiter’s strategy of attracting leading investment talent to deliver superior client outcomes and an exemplary client experience.

Absent any further engagement with GAM in relation to the potential transfer of the funds currently managed by the European Equity Team, it is our expectation that the team would, after an orderly handover, take on the investment management of Jupiter’s existing European equity fund range by the summer of 2025. Any transition of investment management responsibilities will be seamless and managed in the best interest of clients.

Kiran Nandra, Head of Equities, at Jupiter Asset Management, said: “As we realign our investment expertise within the core area of European equities, we are excited that Niall, Chris and Chris will be joining Jupiter. We believe that their strong investment track record and institutionally-driven investment approach will lead to improved client outcomes for a broader range of clients.”

Niall Gallagher, lead investment manager, added: “We are all delighted to be joining Jupiter, where the focus on truly active investment management, combined with a client-centric philosophy, strongly aligns with our approach. We look forward to working with our new colleagues to build our client base over time.”
